What you need to do to prepare?
We strongly recommend that you upgrade to one of the latest versions of Office as soon as possible:
- Subscription based Microsoft 365 Apps.
- Office 2019, which is a one-time purchase and available for one PC or Mac per license.
What is the difference between Microsoft 365 Apps and Office 2019?
- Microsoft 365 Apps is updated on a regular basis with new features.
- Office 2019 has the same set of features that it had when it was released in October 2018.

What are the system requirements for Microsoft 365 or Office 2019?
Note: – Prior to deploying either version, please check the System requirements for Microsoft 365 and Office as well as the Microsoft 365 and Office system requirements matrix to ensure that the version you choose is supported on the operating system you are using.
Is Exchange 2010 still supported?
The support for Exchange Server 2010 also sends on October 13th, 2020 to give customers more time to complete their migrations. It is recommended upgrading your Exchange 2010 to Exchange Server 2016 to remain secure and supported.
Can I still use Office 2010 with Windows 10?
Office 2010 is still compatible with Windows 10. Older versions of Office are not compatible with latest version of Windows but might work if you use the compatibility mode.
Can I install Office 365 and keep Office 2010?
You can’t run both Office 365 and Office 2010 on the same computer. It is not recommended by Microsoft.
What happens when Office 2010 expires?
- Increase in security risks and compliance issues.
- You’ll no longer receive Office 2010 software updates.
- No phone or chat technical support.
- Performance and/or reliability issues over time.
- You’ll no longer be able to download Office 2010 from the Microsoft website.
Should I uninstall Office 2010 before installing 365?
It is advisable to not install Office 365 alongside Office 2010 (or 2007). You must uninstall Office 2010 before installing 365.
Will I lose files if I uninstall Microsoft Office?
Uninstalling Office only removes the Office applications from your computer, it doesn’t remove any documents you created using the apps.
What is compatibility mode in office?
In-Office, compatibility mode automatically opens Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents created in earlier versions of these apps while preserving the layout of the document at the same time.
